It's hard to keep up with John Dwyer. The prolific Westcoast musician is known for dropping albums a mile a minute, occasionally changing the setup of his band to keep the spirit going. For their 19th full-length album, the band formerly known as Thee Oh Sees (and The Oh Sees and OCS and Orinoka Crash Suite and Orange County Sound) are now just the "Oh Sees".
That being said, the twin drummer setup just keeps on doing what it does best: providing an explosive backdrop for whatever out-there sound Dwyer comes up with - be it garage, psychrock, manic folk or spaced-out drones. The result is one of the most exciting live bands you can witness nowadays.
